FAQ

My organization would like to collaborate with Theta Epsilon, how can we do that?

Awesome! We love to collaborate with different organizations in the community and on campus. Please send a proposal with the event description, what you would expect of Theta Epsilon, contact information and any other info you feel is necessary to our email address. Once received it will be forwarded to the person in the chapter we feel is best suited to handle your request depending on the type of event it is.

No. Although we were the first sorority founded for and by college educated, African-American women, it is not a requirement. In fact, we have many Sorors, even within our own chapter, that are not African American. Alpha Kappa Alpha does not discriminate against anyone of any descent.

Do I have to be of African-American descent in order to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha?

Contact the Regional Director for information regarding an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority chapter on your campus. [Regional Director contact information is available in the Contact Us section of the site. To determine if your campus is located in the North Atlantic Region, consult the chapter listings in the About The Region section of the site.]

Can I become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority if I attend a community college?
Can I seek membership If I am or was a member with another sorority?

No. If your campus chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority is inactive, it is not possible for you to become a member of the Sorority at this time.

Is there another method for me to become a member of the Sorority if I attend a college/university that has an inactive chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority?

No. The Sorority's membership requirements include attendance at a four-year college/university that confers baccalaureate degrees.

If that sorority belongs to the National Pan-Hellenic Council or National Pan-Hellenic Conference, you are inelligable for membership with Alpha Kappa Alpha. Individuals that falsify applications will have their membership revoked and will be expelled from the sorority.
